Frequently Asked Questions

Teen Exec is a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping young people develop essential executive functioning skills. Our interactive workshops focus on skills like time management, goal setting, project planning, and organization.

Our program is designed for preteens and teens in the western suburbs of Boston. We welcome participants who are eager to improve their executive functioning skills and achieve greater success in both school and life.

Our program is delivered through a series of workshops, each lasting 45 to 60 minutes. The sessions are designed to build on one another, reinforcing and expanding the executive functioning skills introduced. The summer 2025 series builds on the success of the winter 2025 pilot, which served 13 students and received enthusiastic feedback from both participants and parents.

The workshops cover key skills like time management, goal setting, project planning, and organization. Each session is interactive and encourages studies to discuss and share insights.

Our workshops are held at the Weston Public Library, 87 School Street. This location provides a comfortable and safe learning environment for all participants.

We target enrollment between 6 to 8 students. This range allows us to provide personalized attention and support to each student while encouraging group interaction and collaboration. With smaller group sizes, the facilitator can better address individual needs and ensure that every participant is actively challenged.

The winter 2025 workshops were designed for preteens aged 9–12 and took place once a week over four weeks. In contrast, the summer 2025 workshops are tailored for students aged 12–15 and follow a more immersive format: each series consists of three workshops held on three consecutive evenings. Two series will be offered during the summer, but the content remains consistent across them.

Students will receive brief, "practice at home" assignments between workshops. These assignments are designed to reinforce the skills leaned and will be discussed at the beginning of the next session.

Parents will receive email updates to keep them informed about the assignments and topics covered. These emails will also include relevant questions they can ask their child to support their learning.

At the end of the workshop series, students will receive a certificate of completion and a Teen Exec t-shirt, recognizing their commitment and achievements.

Teen Exec is a non-profit corporation, and the program is delivered free of charge as a service.

The workshops are taught by Natalya Lucas, founder of Teen Exec. Natalya is a student at Weston High School in Massachusetts. Natalya has experience working with younger students as a counselor-in-training at LINX Camps and as a teaching assistant at Momentum Dance, both in Wellesley. She was also a peer mentor in the Sources of Strength program at Weston Middle School. Natalya is joined in the workshop room by Dr. Stacy Smith, her mother. Dr. Smith is a radiologist at Brigham & Women's Hospital and an associate professor at Harvard Medical School.

To register for the summer 2025 workshops, go to the Register page and access the online registration form. You'll receive a confirmation email shortly after registering.

If the workshop reaches its limit, we may schedule additional sessions during the current semester based on demand. Otherwise, we’ll add you to the waitlist and notify you if an opening becomes available. We will also keep you informed about workshops in future semesters.
